A comprehensive course offered to talented young students (15yrs+) to achieve an Government accredited Advanced Diploma qualification, completely unique to Queensland National Ballet School and can be adapted to suit individual training programmes over a 2-3 year, or 3-5 days per week training schedule.
Students who graduate with an Advanced Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance) CUA60113 are highly trained work ready alumni and are positioned on the forefront of the dance industry. Diverse ranges of career options are available to those with an Advanced Diploma qualification. Training for the 'world-class' performer, a physically intense program with abundant opportunities in all facets of the dance industry.
Students are encouraged to complete their academic schooling through distance education, with options to subsidize academic tuition fees when enrolled through Cairns School of Distance Education. Our Advanced Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance) CUA60113 is a secure pathway to obtain a qualification in dance whilst completing academic schooling.
As the dance world progresses, this day and age, it has become more and more important for dancers to have a strong classical and contemporary technique for all career paths in the dance industry. Qld National Ballet School is structured to develop our students into employable dancers, receiving the highest level of training from many former professional dancers or prestigious dance teachers.
Credit for the completion of the Advanced Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance) CUA60113 may be banked for the student with the Queensland Studies Authority and may contribute to the issuance of a Queensland Certificate of Education. They may also be credited toward an OP equivalent score: awarded by the Queensland Tertiary Application Centre, for students seeking higher education pathways.

WHAT IS VAGANOVA METHOD OF CLASSICAL BALLET AND THE AUSTRALIA CONSERVATOIRE OF BALLET SYLLABUS
Many of the greatest stars in the history of classical ballet came from the Vaganova method. These include Anna Pavlova, Rudolph Nureyev, Mikhail Baryshnikov, George Balanchine, and modern dancers include Diana Vishneva, Ulyana Lopatkina, Ivan Vasilev, Svetlana Zakharova, Evgenia Obraztsova, Maria Kochetkova, Natalia Osipova, Polina Semionova, Maria Khoreva and many many more.
They all had teachers who studied the Vaganova method their whole lives and passed it on with diligence. It’s no surprise: Many students aspiring to become professionals choose this method as a foundation for their classical technique. Our students are strictly trained in the Russian Vaganova Method and Syllabus (Australian Conservatoire of Ballet- ACB) as the Vaganova Method is predominantly use the most prestigious school around the world.
